Catherine Robertson

From seashore to mountaintop, flora and fauna are subjects of her paintings which are put forth in a glorious display of light, shadow and vibrant creative colours. Catherine’s work is sought after for its beauty, drama and light. Her response to what she sees and feels leaps from the canvas loudly and clearly, yet invites the viewer to enjoy it in his or her own personal way. Largely self taught, Catherine has still enjoyed guidance over the years under such professional artists as Allen Edwards (Federation of Canadian Artists), Prof. Zadak (University of Prague), and Prof. Hsui (University of Taiwan).

Her paintings are in both corporate and private collections in Canada, the United States, Germany, and Japan as well as the private collection of the Federation of Canadian Artists (FCA), an institution in which she holds Active Status and from which she received an Award of Merit. Catherine was also recently accepted into the Drawing Society of Canada as an Honourary Member. In the United States, she is a member of the Colored Pencil Society of America, and a member of the Oil Painters of America (OPA), plus the Sedona Art Centre in Arizona. She is represented by Golden Cactus Gallery of Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, and the White Rock Museum, White Rock, BC. Catherine was sponsored by Teldon Print Media and the Holland America LIne for her “Eagles in the City” and “Spirit Bears in the City” projects, created by the BC Lions Society and Canucks for Kids organizations. These presented painted, life-sized reproductions of eagle and bear figures in prominent locations around the City of Vancouver. She has also contributed to a similar project for the Rotary Club in White Rock.

Catherine lives in White Rock, BC, just south of Vancouver. She regularly instructs classes and workshops when she is not too busy painting new images of the Creator’s wonderful world.
